NOTES: Highly invasive large shrub native to northeastern Asia. White, fragrant flowers in axillary pairs become cream-colored with age. Abundant red berries by late summer. Stems hollow with stringy tan bark. Roots produce biochemicals to reduce nearby competition (allelopathy).
