Chinkapin Oak

Scientific Name:   Quercus muehlenbergii


Large, long-lived tree, often attaining immense size. Leaves variable, smaller at the top of the tree. Bark white and flaky, similar to other members of the White Oak group. Clustered terminal buds (like all oaks).
